Barry received his undergraduate degree in Economics from John Carroll University in Cleveland and his graduate degree from The Ohio State University Fisher School of Business, and is a CPA for the State of Ohio. Ralynn Ernest, Ed.D.
Campus Director

Ralynn received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University in Mathematics, her graduate degree in Education with a Focus in Curriculum from the University of Phoenix, and her doctorate in Leading Postsecondary and Higher Education Institutions from Argosy University. She has previous experience as an adjunct instructor, full-time instructor, DIrector of General Education, Dean of Academic Affairs, and Campus Director throughout her career at Brown Mackie College, Vista College, and now, of course, here at AIAM. Linda received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Otterbein College, her graduate degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University and her Massage Therapy diploma from AIAM. Previously, she worked as an account representative at IBM, as Director of the Management Assistance Program with United Way of Franklin County, and as an art consultant. Linda manages our services to current students and AIAM alumni, and also enforces AIAM™s Title IX policies on campus and at AIAM events. Elaine M. Hiatt, Ph.D.
Academic Dean

Elaine received her undergraduate degree in Comparative Religious Studies, her graduate degree in Workforce Development Education from The Ohio State University and her doctorate in Education with a focus in Leadership in Higher Education from Capella University. Previously, she worked as School Director in Southwestern Ohio, as an Education Consultant in the career school industry, and several years teaching experience in career education. Elaine also has several trainings in holistic health methods with over twenty years of practical experience. Elaine is responsible for the training, development, and management of AIAM™s faculty. She also provides academic advisement and oversees success and retention of AIAM students. In addition, Elaine works with the academic leadership in curricula development and program evaluation. Fran Hutchinson, RN, MSN-Ed
Director of Nursing

Fran received an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Columbus State Community College in 2003, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College in 2010, and her Master of Science in Nursing Education from Chamberlain College. Fran has been a Nurse since 2003. She has also received her certificate as a Surgical Technician. Fran has experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and Skilled/Rehabilitative nursing. She has been teaching at AIAM since 2013 and has taught Integrative II, Medical-Surgical Nursing and the accompanying clinical and lab courses; Community Nursing, E-Concepts and HESI preparation courses. Fran was Associate Director of Nursing at AIAM from December 2017 to May 2018 and has been the Director of Nursing at AIAM since May 2018. E-mail

Emily received her undergraduate degree from Ohio University. She has been with AIAM since 2014 where she started as Registrar and was later promoted to Senior Registrar. As Director of Student Services Emily continues to have an integral role in the Registrar department and is also responsible for monitoring, supporting, and enhancing students’ success and retention. She is an active member of AIAM’s Strategic Planning Committee and Director of AIAM’s Employee and Student Satisfaction Committee. E-mail

Diane Sater, BS, LMT
Chief Executive Officer and AIAM Co-founder

Diane is responsible for AIAM™s strategic direction and compliance with legal and accrediting standards. She has served on the National and State of Ohio Boards of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the Executive Committee for the National Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the founding board of the Ohio Council of Massage Therapy Schools, and on various committees for the State Medical Board of Ohio and the Asian Bodywork Therapy Association. Previously, she worked for five years as an IBM account representative and for five years as an IBM engineer. Diane received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University College of Engineering and her massage diploma from the Central Ohio School of Massage. E-mail

Helen Yee, BA, LMT
Chief Financial Officer and AIAM Co-founder

Helen co-founded AIAM with Diane in 1990. She is responsible for setting the school's administrative and financial objectives, policy and practices. She also directs the acquisition, development, implementation, operations support systems. In addition to her work at AIAM, Helen serves on the Accreditation Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM) site visit team for the evaluation of acupuncture schools across the country. She presently serves on the board for Stonewall Board of Trustees, State of the Arts Production, and served as the past president of Pacific Association of Women Martial. Helen has competed in national and international competitions throughout her martial arts career, and was an alternate in the 1988 Olympics. She competed on the U.S. Tae Kwon Do team in 1990, earning a silver medal in the World Cup in Madrid, Spain. Helen was inducted into the Bruce Lee Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2015. E-mail

Anthony received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of the State of New York, his graduate degree from Central Michigan University and another graduate degree in Ancient & Classical History from the American Military University. He holds “all but dissertation (ABD) status in Academic Psychology from Walden University, and is currently in the process of completing his dissertation for the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Psychology at the Graduate Theological Foundation. Jayne Culloo, BS, MS, LPN, LMT

Jayne received her undergraduate degree in Education from the University of Dayton and her graduate degree in Human Movement from A.T. Still University. Jayne is a Licensed Practical Nurse, a Licensed Massage Therapist and has earned her National Certification through MBLEX. In addition, she has training in Craniosacral Therapy, Sports Massage, and NMT. She has more than 25 years of teaching experience with the last 14 years at massage schools in both Ohio and Texas. While in private practice as a massage therapist, her clients included Ballet Met dancers, Columbus Symphony musicians and various touring performers in both the theatre and arts. At AIAM, Jayne teaches courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Pathology, and Anatomical Kinesiology. Louise Karl, Ph.D.

Louise received degrees from both Ohio Dominican University and The Ohio State University. She has been working in the field of microbiology for over 40 years with combined experience at Lyle Labs as Lab Director, Ashland Chemical as a Microbiologist, and Children's Hospital as an Epidemiologist. She has taught at CSCC, Hondros, and Capital University. Louise was voted Woman of the Year at Ashland Chemical and nominated for Teacher of the Year at CSCC. E-mail

Zin Min, Jr. BA, M.Ed, TESOL

Zin has over 10 years of diverse teaching experience. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University and his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Ohio Dominican University. With over 120 hours of TEFL/TESOL certification training, Zin has taught English remotely in Beijing, China and has taught Language Arts as the chairperson of his English Department in West Palm Beach, Florida. Saundra "Sandy" Neds, MS, LMT

Sandy graduated from Wittenberg University in 1978 with a BA in Business Administration and a minor in Physical Education and graduated in 1986 from the University of Dayton with an MS in Education. In 1980, Sandy became a paramedic. She has worked as an Accountant, Paramedic, School Director, has taught at high school level and teaches Anatomy and Physiology, Massage, Medical Terminology, Nutrition and Math for both Nursing and Massage programs. Sand has also taught Basic First Aid and CPR, Basic and Advanced Emergency Medicine, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Trauma Life Support. She currently owns and operates her own massage clinic. She continued her training in several different areas such as Reiki, Healing Touch, Sport Massage and Lymphatic Drainage. E-mail

Miguel Alvarez is an Acupuncture Diplomate, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Certified Reflexologist with over 15 years of experience in the field of health and wellness. Kyung Chai, MS, L.O.M, L.Ac

Kyung received her undergraduate degree in Science and studied Nutrition in Korea. She earned her Master's Degree at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, one of the oldest schools for Chinese medicine in the United States. There, she received her graduate degree in Oriental Medicine, as well as her Acupuncture Degree. In China, she earned a Certificate of Advanced Training in Acupuncture and Tuina at Guangzhou. She is board certified and licensed in Acupuncture through the NCCAOM and State of Ohio, is also a Certified Pharmacy Technician through the PTCB. She has over 10 years of experience in the Acupuncture field, including meridian massage, cupping, gusha, moxa, cosmetic acupuncture and ear acupuncture. As an Acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, Kyung believes in the healing touch along with natural therapy. Using these methods, prevention has become her priority. Growing up in Korea, natural therapy and healing touch were a major influence. Her parents cultivated Chinese herbs and made decoctions. In her study of martial arts (2nd degree black belt in the Tae Kwon Do), she learned spiritual healing touch of the mind and body. She was also a licensed and certified Clinical Lab Technician in Korea. In Japan, she did microbiology research at the Nagoya Medical University, along with teaching the Korean language in Nunoike Cultural Center. While living in Chicago, she worked as a Research specialist at the Department of Pharmacognosy in the college of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has spent her life in the study and healing of the human body and uses this dedication in her everyday practice. Hong received her Master of Science at Texas A&M University in the US. She received a Master of Medicine from Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1996. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine in Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 1990. She has worked as a physician in the Department of Internal Medicine at Guanganmen Hospital in Beijing, China. In her more than eight years of practicing TCM—especially Acupuncture and Herbology—she specializes in pain management, internal conditions, gynecology diseases, insomnia and anxiety. Melissa Brooks, BSN, RN

Melissa became licensed as an LPN in 1992, as an RN in 1994 and earned her BSN from Ohio University in 2013. She is currently attending Chamberlain University and will complete the MSN program in June of 2018. Melissa's nursing experience includes med/surg nursing from 1992-1993, long-term care, skilled, psychiatric and hospice nursing from 1994-1998, Peri-operative nursing from 1998-2005, Bariatric Program Coordinator/Manager 2005-2014, Nurse Manager-Surgery from 2014 to 2017, and Home Health Nursing in 2018. Sheila received her BSN from Grand Canyon University and her MSN from Phoenix University and has been an RN since 1983. She has worked as a med-surg nurse for 28 years, pediatric nurse for 15 years, OB nurse for 3 years, dialysis nurse for 12 years, and worked as a prison nurse for 6 years in med-surg and OB. Sheila was also a US Army nurse and worked 6 years in an Intermediate Care ward. She has 4 years of previous teaching experience teaching nursing assistants and LPNs, and over 20 years of experience teaching enlisted soldiers and junior officers military nursing on how to work in a Combat Support Hospital. Judy is a Certified Trager Practitioner, Integrative Nurse Coach–Board Certified. She has been a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio since 1989. Her 27 years of nursing include 12 years in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing with a focus on Addiction/Recovery; 3 years as a Public Health Nurse including School Nursing and Immunization, Flu and Planned Parenthood Clinics; 20 years in Alternative private practice utilizing the Trager Approach; 8 years as a Clinical Instructor in Holistic and Mental Health Nursing, and a and 6 years in the classroom as an instructor. Judy is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association, Trager® International and the International Nurse Coach Association. Vickie received degrees from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and the University of South Florida. She started her career as a social worker in Florida, directing and teaching volunteers and was the Program Director for United Way, providing funding and liaison services with commitment organizations and Federal, State and Local governments. She was also a consultant to the State of Florida in Pasco County for the child abuse team from All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. After moving North, she continued her education as a nurse in Philadelphia where she provided bedside care in specialty critical care units for open-heart, trauma, neurological, and burn patients in university hospitals. George A. Tazi, MSN, BSN, RN

George started as an LPN, attending the Margaret Murray Washington Practical Nursing School in Washington D.C. He graduated from Columbus State Community College with his ADN in 1999. George attended Mount Carmel College of Nursing, earning his BSN in 2007 and his MSN in 2014. He brings experience from Med/Surgical/Oncology at Trinity Health since 2003 and has been an Advanced Practice Nurse since 2014. Debbie received her Associate's Degree in Accounting in 1988 from Texas at Vernon Regional Junior College and her Bachelor's Degree in Human Service Administration from McGregor School, part of Antioch University, in 2002. She worked for 3 years as a Customer Service Representative for AT&T and worked in various positions in Financial Aid for about 23 years, holding the positions of Financial Aid Officer, Director of Financial Aid and Regional Default Specialist. Ashleigh Bryan, BBA

Ashleigh received her undergraduate degree in Marketing from Kent State University. She joined AIAM in 2016 as our Marketing Coordinator and has since been promoted to our Marketing and Client Relations Manager. Her role includes a large focus on communicating and building/maintaining relationships with both our students and clinic clients. Jeni attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks, studying Psycho-Linguistics and graduated with a BA. She has been a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) since 1995, working as an Office Manager for the US Army DOL at Fort Wainwright, Alaska for 2 years. She worked as Education Assistant at the Columbus VA Outpatient Clinic for 4 years and was the manager of the Patient Education Resource Center for 3 years. Jeni has been working in website design and marketing since 2001, doing projects for small businesses in the Columbus area.
