Arlington Massage Therapy, Inc.
LMT, Owner

Melinda Slagle Aleshire, LMT graduated from AIAM’s Licensed Massage Therapy program in 2001. Many of you will remember her as a receptionist at the school’s front desk from 1998 to 2005. In February of 2005 she opened Arlington Massage Therapy with 4 other LMT’s. Today, she has added “Wellness Center” to the name, moved to a much larger location, and added many forms of
alternative medicine. Arlington Massage Therapy and Wellness Center now has 22 practitioners; 12 of which are AIAM graduates, offering a variety of wellness services in addition to massage therapy such as acupuncture, sports chiropractic, yoga, meditation, Pilates classes, and more. She also manages a corporate account for a Fortune 500 company that offers chair massages onsite five days a week in multiple locations.

The focus of Melinda’s massage practice is to help her clients feel better and improve their quality of life. “Almost all of my clients are on a recurring schedule once or twice per month. We all know when you get a massage on a regular basis, you just feel better. I am so grateful to the many loyal clients who have stayed with me all these years and built my practice into what it is today. I am also thankful for each practitioner who makes up Arlington Massage Therapy. Each of them brings something different to the table and together, we are making a difference.” Melinda also has a reputation for fostering newly licensed therapists as they start their private practice. “It always helps to have someone to bounce ideas off of when you’re just starting out. I want to share my knowledge and experiences and help others when I can. You have to give a lot of yourself to do well in this business and truly care for each and every person you come in contact with. There are enough clients for all of us. It’s just finding the right ones and learning how to keep them.” Even with the running of her business and helping others, Melinda has a very busy massage practice herself, all built on word of mouth (20-25 clients per week), and manages the building and day to day business of the center. She and her husband, Nic live in Northwest Columbus with their 2 children, 3 dogs and a cat.

Thank you, Melinda, for being a fantastic supportive training ground for new AIAM graduates and providing a wonderful environment in which seasoned practitioners can work and collaborate with others. Your success is our success!
