Registered Nurse

It is hard to believe that two years ago, I was just half way through the RN nursing program at AIAM. My education at AIAM has helped me turn my dream of becoming a nurse into a reality.

I started my lengthy nursing journey in 2009 after leaving a management position within a local business. I was looking for something that would fulfill my heart, and my life purpose. I have always been passionate about helping others, and nothing has made me happier than to put a smile on someone’s face. I first completed the STNA, and PCA classes at CSCC. I then worked as a home health aid for a few months, until I was able to accept my first PCA position with Mount Carmel. I spent two years in cardiac step down, and two years in mother infant. I then transferred to Ohio State for a new experience. During this time I started the nursing program at AIAM. This was a new, challenging, exciting, and yet scary time for me. I couldn’t believe that I was actually starting to work towards my ultimate goal.

AIAM just happened to be the best fit for me to get started. I liked that the campus was small, and I knew I would be able to get the individualized experience. I never expected that a class of unfamiliar faces, would become my new family. We spent two full years together. We learned together, we laughed, we cried, we ate breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner together. Oh, and coffee, we drank lots of coffee together! We all developed special bonds, friendships, and we encouraged one another. We endured happy days, sad days, and of course the struggles. The experience we gained as a team is something I will never forget. Most importantly we all made it, and we were able to walk across that stage together and get our degrees!

Graduation has to be one of my most cherished memories. I am proud to be a part of the July 2015 graduating class. Not long after graduation I started my new career with an OB/GYN in Columbus, and passed my boards in December of 2015. After 6 months of a wonderful experience, I was able to fulfill yet another dream….to live by the BEACH! I have recently relocated to Saint Petersburg, Florida and am currently working as an OB triage nurse for Women’s Care Florida. It is a blessing, and a wonderful feeling to go to work everyday, and help guide each woman through their own individualized pregnancy experience.

Thank you AIAM for the incredible experience, and giving me the foundation to an AWESOME
