AIAM Alumni Spotlight of the Month: Ellen Spinner
Licensed MSN, CNP, and Owner / Gentle Care Health Center in Mechanicsburg, Ohio
Ellen Spinner is a Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in Women’s Health. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Ohio State University College of Nursing, which she attended from 1990 – 1994 and 1996 – 1998. She later attended The American Institute of Alternative Medicine, formerly known as “Massage Away School of Therapy”.
Ellen is a nationally Certified Nurse Practitioner and she is licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board as a Massage Therapist. Prior to specialization as a Nurse Practitioner, Ellen was a Registered Nurse in Emergency, Orthopedic, Medical/Surgical, and Maternal Newborn Units at the Southern Ohio Medical Center, Riverside Methodist Hospital, and Grant Hospital. Ellen enjoys empowering patients with the knowledge and confidence to proactively take charge of their own health and to view their lives from a “wellness
perspective” which honors the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual elements of life.
In January 2008, Ellen opened Gentle Care Health Center at 15 North Main St., Mechanicsburg. Ellen offers Gynecology and Women’s Primary Care services. She provides the highest level of care to women of all walks of life. In the words of one of her patients: “She brings quality and professionalism and compassion to the health care system; Ellen really listens and genuinely cares.”
Ellen was AIAM’s Winter 2018 Commencement speaker on January 19, 2018. What an inspiring message she passed along to our graduates!
